MaxsilTex Silica Fabrics are woven from amorphous silica continuous filament yarn with service up to 2000 ° F / 1100 ° C. The yarn is air bulked for maximum insu- lating value while maintaining the durability and strength only a continuous fila- ment yarn can provide. MaxsilTex Silica Fabrics are not made from leached glass fabric, ceramic or sialoxol staple fibers. The high purity continuous filament fi- bers deliver the longest lasting, virtually shrink free, and most durable fabric at 2000 ° F. MaxsilTex fabrics are also manufactured to target thickness whereas leached silica products are 25-30% thinner than specification. MaxsilTex materials have virtually no shrinkage at service temperature whereas other fibers shrink up to 15% & become brittle above 1600°F.
