Dear Friends: Please join us on Saturday, December 13 at noon at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises as we host the 68th Annual Culpeper Senior Bull Sale. Special thanks to Steve and Blake Hopkins at Riverview Farms for their excellent care and management of the bulls, and their important partnership with Virginia BCIA. On Sunday afternoon December 7 from 1:00-4:00 PM we will host the annual Open House at Riverview Farms’ bull development facility outside Louisa. We hope you can join us as this will be an excellent time to view the bulls and visit with the breeders and everyone involved. We are witnessing unprecedented times in the beef business with record prices and favorable markets for the cow-calf sector. Now is the opportune time to invest in the future through genetics that will carry herd forward for years to come! The Culpeper Bull Test program is the oldest, continuously operated bull test program in the nation. The principles that the program were founded on continue to serve us well today. This include commitment by the consignors to provide bulls which meet your rigorous standards which jump through many hoops to qualify for the sale, all in an effort to provide you with high quality bulls that will go home and do the job for you. Furthermore, the BCIA consignors stand behind these bulls regarding their fertility and function. Again this year, we had incredible interest in the Culpeper program with 150+ bulls evaluated. Only the top half will be sold! Study their pedigrees, performance, and phenotype and we think you will agree this is an outstanding set of bulls! If you cannot join us in person, the sale will be available online through LiveAuctions.tv. Complimenting this, video is available on all the bulls which can be accessed on the BCIA website. We can also facilitate phone bidding, please reach out if you need assistance prior to or on sale day. We would be happy to assist you any way we can to secure a bull that meets your needs. All bulls selling have passed a complete breeding soundness exam, including semen evaluation, as specified by the Society for Theriogenology. Volume buyer discounts are available with the purchase of three or more bulls. All bulls sell with the BCIA enhanced guarantee, which provides assurance for soundness and fertility. We will provide complimentary delivery for bulls following the sale. Finally, this sale marks the end of a great era as our longtime auctioneer Mike Jones has announced his retirement. Mike has been a fixture at the Culpeper sale for many years, and we appreciate his many contributions to making the program what it is today!
