$100 CLARK SAVINGS ON HOT WATER TANKLESS PURCHASE

TANKLESS BENEFITS

ON DEMAND HEATING: Allows the user to turn on any hot water faucet and get hot water almost instanta neously. Tank style water heaters take more time to heat the water stored in the tank.

SPACE SAVING SIZES: Smaller homes can get on-demand access to hot water without having to dedicate a large area to a bulky water tank. LIMITLESS HOT WATER: Users don't need to worry about the shower suddenly getting cold, which happens when a tank style water heater runs out of hot water. LONG-LASTING DURABILITY: Tankless water heaters last for up to 20 years before needing to be replaced. For compari son, tank-style water heaters have an average life of about 12 years.

HIGH EFFICIENCY AND ENERGY SAVING DESIGNS:

Tankless water heaters help reduce over all energy costs and keep more money in your pocket. A tankless water heater only activates when hot water is needed, instead of continuously using energy to heat and reheat a standing tank of water, even when hot water isn't being used.

WR I T T EN B Y: H E AT H E R J AC K SON

W inding down the bends of the Blue Ridge parkway between milepost #170 & #171, lies a food and libation sensation. Past breathtaking mountaintop overlooks and rolling hills of idyllic rural farmhouses on properties as far as the eye can see, you’ll find yourself veering off the parkway and onto a nostalgic gravel farm road toward Villa Appalachia Winery. Rock Castle Gorge Road feels less like a pretentious cookie cutter estate and more like driving over to a good friend’s house. Even before arrival the intrigue of what hidden gem may be around the corner bubbles inside. As you pass through the gates of this verdant Italian Villa, one could easily believe they’ve been teleported straight into a hilltop of Tuscany. Villa Appalachia is a family operated, Virginia farm winery, producing wine in an established local vineyard since 1989. The original root stock vines they harvest their grapes from came straight from Italy. Notes of its historical origin whisper onto your lips with every sip. Their tasting room is open Wednesday-Friday from 11-5:00. Saturdays 11-6 and Sundays 12-4:30 where you can sample all their unique varieties of Italian inspired wines, to which each one may very well end up being more impressive than the last. Owners, Tim and Julie Block, originally from Wisconsin, along with their two children and their children’s spouses, ventured here to fabulous Floyd from Lake Norman, North Carolina. They wanted to hop off the hampster wheel of city life and embrace a small town lifestyle that lines up more closely with what their family values really are: quality over quantity and better- not bigger. Tim comes from more than

40 years in the restaurant business while Julie continues to work in the healthcare profession (in addition to making our wine!). Consequently, all those years of experience have now funneled into an enthusiastic passion to not only create the absolute best wine possible, but to also pour back into the community. Tim and Julie have a refreshing gift of hospitality that offers guests permission to slow down. Their family has created an atmosphere at the villa that leaves you absolutely rejuvenated and inspired. Saturdays in their courtyard, guests enjoy being serenaded by local musicians while sipping sangrias and snacking on warm paninis slathered with pesto made with basil picked straight from their garden. Visitors appreciate lazy Sunday afternoons spent playing bocce ball while waiting on the legendary Hayward Smith, son-in law and winery manager, to finish cooking a brick oven wood

fire pizza. Almost everything you are served here is house made, home grown or from just down the road, which makes a difference you can taste. To get the entire experience you can’t leave without capping the night off with a crisp cannoli loaded with traditional Italian ricotta filling and chocolate chips. The quality of Villa Appalachia wines is unmatched, but the experience you will receive here will be sincerely unforgettable.

Helpful tips TO KEEP THINGS MOVING!

FROM YOUR DELIVERY DRIVERS:

Keep trees & shrubs trimmed along your driveway so that we can drive our big trucks safely to make a successful delivery. When the weatherperson predicts snow, mark your underground tank location with a flagged stake. This will help our drivers that might not normally work your route. Make sure there are no parked cars blocking access. Is your 911 address clearly posted? We want to find you and we want any emergency personnel to also find you should they ever be needed! Please ensure that your 911 address is visible. Don’t forget to share a new key or access code to your gate if you have any changes.

LEVEL PAY B U D G E T I N G M A D E E A S Y

Receiving a large fuel bill at the same time your property taxes are due or it’s time for Christmas shopping, is not ideal for anyone. We offer our Level Pay Plan to give our customers the ease and comfort of knowing what their monthly fuel cost will be by spreading their annual fuel costs over twelve months. Enjoy the consistency of paying one even payment each month. If you sign up for E-Pay, you enjoy a 3% credit on all monthly payments applied on your 12th month. When you sign up for Level Pay Plan, we will average your last twelve months of fuel costs and estimate your monthly payment amount. If you are new to Clark Gas & Oil, we will estimate your future usage based on the appliances that you have in your home or business. We keep an eye on our Level Pay customer accounts in case you have changes in your life that result in an energy change and adjust your payment amount accordingly.

Customers can call their local office or email support@clarkgasandoil.com to find out what their estimated monthly Level Pay Plan payment will be if interested in enrolling.

Control your power. Control your life.

Uncertain times & uncertain weather. Generators are for certain

An automatic standby generator is a backup electrical system that operates whether you are home or away. Within seconds of an outage, it automatically supplies power directly to your home’s electrical circuit breaker box. After utility power returns, the generator shuts itself off and waits for the next outage. It operates on propane, gas or diesel and remains outside just like a central air conditioning unit. These power disruptions are considered a nuisance; yet for many, they cause lifestyle and economic hardships. Depending on your needs and budget, many options exist that can help prepare your home for future power outages.

You don’t miss it until it’s gone. That’s certainly true of electricity. We take for granted that it will be there at a flip of a switch, but sometimes that doesn’t happen. In an area that’s seen its share of both short and extended power outages, both in the summer and winter months, you can skip the inconveniences and economic hardships by investing in

a generator. Prevent :

Food spoilage Frozen pipes Extreme temperatures indoors Loss of internet, use of appliances & electronics

WHAT IS THAT SMELL?

A DISAGREEABLE ODOR IS ADDED TO PROPANE SO THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DETECT THE SMELL EASILY IN CASE A LEAK DEVELOPS.

IF YOU THINK YOU SMELL PROPANE... 1. Extinguish all smoking material and any other open flames or sources of ignition. 2. Get everyone out of the building. 3. Turn off the gas using the shut-off valve on the tank. 4. Call Clark Gas & Oil or 911 from a neighbors home. 5. Stay outside and leave the gas off until the leak has been fixed. DO NOT... 1. Turn light switches, appliances or thermostats on or off, and do not use the telephone (this includes your cell phone). A spark from one of these could ignite the gas. 2. Light or try to re-light any appliances. Leave this job to Clark Gas & Oil. 3. Re-enter the building, until the problem has been corrected.

Propane Safety is Our Number One Priority! Although propane is one of the safest ways to provide energy to your home or business, you must observe some safety precautions: 1. Never store or use propane gas cylinders larger than one pound for heaters, stoves, dryers, or other appli ances, inside your house or garage. 2. Never leave propane gas cylinders in your car’s cargo or passenger area on a hot day. 3. Never use a generator in an unventilated area. 4. I f you smell propane, leave the area immediately. Do Not cut on/off any lights Do Not use the phone in th area (including cell phones) DO CALL 911 for help from outside the home.
