SWIM LESSONS - GROUP Each level must meet a minimum of three registered participants. If the class does not reach this minimum, it will be can celled. Refunds and make-up classes are not individually made up or refunded if a class should be missed outside of the facility’s control. *Baby Otters 1: Parent/Child Level 1 Age: 6-18 months Splash with us in your child's first swim lesson! Parents are taught how to safely work with their child in an aquatic environ ment. This includes learning how to support and hold your child, as well as reinforcing the basic principles of water safety. Your child will continue to become more comfortable in the water as they prepare to begin the Preschool Aquatics Program. Blowing bubbles, voluntarily submerging underwater, and maintaining front and back positions are some of the skills learned. Starfish: PRESCHOOL 1 Age: 3.5-5 In the first stage of the Preschool Aquatics Program, your child will learn the fundamentals of bobbing, floating and gliding with assistance. Alternating and simultaneous front and leg actions on the front and back will also be introduced. Additional skills taught in this class in clude rolling from front to back and back to front, combined arm and leg actions, and basic locomotion with assistance. A refund for the cancelled class will be issued. Refunds and make-up classes are not individually made up or refunded if a class should be missed outside of the facility’s control. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: • If Montgomery County Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Aquatic Center will not open until 9 a.m. and all scheduled programs for that day will be cancelled and rescheduled/refunded. • If Montgomery County Schools are delayed in the morning due to inclement weather, all programs before 12 noon will be cancelled and rescheduled/refunded. • If Montgomery County Schools are released early due to inclement weather, all programs after 12 noon will be can celled and rescheduled/refunded. • Updates will be shared to our website and social media in the event of a late opening or early closure. • Phone calls in this regard will not always be feasible. Please help us work through these times together by being aware of these policies.
