This is a drive-through event; no walk-ups will be allowed. Papers to be shredded are preferred to be in plastic storage bin or box, no bigger than 22.5x18x11.5. Limit 3 per car. Please make sure you only have documents to be shredded. Items that can’t be shredded include Metal, including 3 ring binders, composition notebooks, hanging file folders, paint brushes, padlocks, hardback books, keys, eyeglass- es, bungee cords, etc. Date Time Location Tuesday, April 26 3 – 6 p.m. Christiansburg Rec Center Parking lot VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS SERVICES – BLACKSBURG OFFICE The Virginia Department of Veterans Services has opened an office at 700 University City Boulevard in Blacksburg. This office is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The office location replaces the monthly visit to the Christiansburg Armory in order to provide more access to the veterans and families in our community. Matthew Wright is the local Virginia Department of Veterans Services representative. He is from Pulaski County and served 20 years in the Army. He is a dedicated professional who is ready and eager to help our veteran community. Dr. Wright offers services and supports to aid in filing claims for benefits through the Veterans Administration and can be reached at 434-215-9068 or through the Virginia Department of Veterans Services website https://www.dvs.virginia. gov/dvs/locations/wytheville-field-office or https://business.google.com/dashboard/l/10060545836200139763.
