SPECIAL EVENTS ROCKIN’ MAIN CONCERT SERIES Presented by Hampton Inn of Christiansburg Dates/Times: Saturday, September 11 5-9 pm Location: Main Street Admission: FREE Additional Information: After the Tech game, come to our post-game concert, as we celebrate food and music in downtown Christiansburg! Live bands will perform, and attendees can purchase yummy food and drinks from a selection of food trucks and wine and beer vendors. We will be honoring our first responder heroes in remembrance of September 11. The event will feature 2 live bands, including the award winning Lyn Avenue.

THE 8-MILE BRIDGE CHALLENGE Dates/Times: Saturday, September 18 8 am Location: Huckleberry Trail; meet at Christiansburg Recreation Center Fee: FREE Registration Ends: September 8

Additional Information: Participants meet at the Recreation Center before being bused to the Blacksburg Library. From there, participants walk the length of the Huckleberry Trail, crossing the Renva W. Bridge, and ending at the Recreation Center. The walk is limited, so register early to reserve your spot. Each participant will receive a T-shirt.

ROCKIN’ MAIN CONCERT SERIES Dates/Times: Saturday, October 2 3-9pm Location: Main Street Admission: FREE Additional Information: Come enjoy a variety of foods from food trucks from across SW Virginia! Beer and wine will be available for purchase. The event will also feature three live bands, including the Jason Adamo Band. TAILGATE PARTY Dates/Times: Friday, October 22 4:30pm (before the Christiansburg vs. Patrick Henry football game) Location: Christiansburg High School Admission: FREE Additional Information: Join us pregame for fun, family friendly activities and traditional tailgate food. After the tail- gate party, walk over to the Christiansburg vs. Patrick Henry football game and cheer on our Blue Demons! GETTING SCARY ON THE HUCKLEBERRY 1 MILE FUN RUN, 5K RACE AND TRUCK OR TREAT Dates/Times: Saturday, October 30 8am Truck or Treat; 9am Race Location: Christiansburg Recreation Center Fee: $30 if postmarked by 10/14/21, $35 after 10/14/21 Additional Information: Race participants will begin and end the 5K at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. After the race, participants can enjoy free breakfast prepared by Parks and Recreation staff and reunite with their children for the annual Truck or Treat event. Trucks from Christiansburg Fire, Police, Rescue and Public Works set up in the back-parking lot of the Recreation Center for kids and kids at heart to look at and touch. 5K participants will receive a T-shirt.

CALLS FROM THE NORTH POLE Ages: 8 and younger Date/Times: December 1 & 2 (and 3 if necessary) starting at 5:30pm Registration Ends: Monday, November 29 at 5pm

Additional Information: The Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department has arranged for Santa to personally call children 8 years old and younger on December 1. For Santa to call, you need to complete a form at the Christiansburg Recreation Center or online at www.christiansburg.org/recreation and return it by 5pm Monday, November 29. Santa may need more time to call all the children so if you do not receive a call on December 1 or 2, you will be called on December 3. Please keep your phone line open.
