 CHRISTIANSBURG INSTITUTE BLOCK PARTY Date: Saturday September 7 Time: 12 - 3 p.m. Location: Edgar A. Long Building; Scattergood Drive Fee: FREE – This family-friendly event is designed to celebrate and raise awareness to the history and progress of Christians- burg Institute. The event will offer children’s activities and a cook out, complete with live music  DOWNTOWN CHRISTIANSBURG INC.’S FOOD TRUCK RODEO Date: Friday, September 13 Time: 5 - 10 p.m. Location: Downtown Christiansburg Description: This event offers a variety of food trucks paired with beer sales and live music that will continue through the eve- ning! Come enjoy!  CHRISTIANSBURG'S TOP TALENT Date: Saturday, September 14 Time: 5 - 8 p.m. Location: Hickok Street Description: Sign-up and showcase your talent, so long as it is family-friendly. This event will feature live performances on Hick- ok Street in downtown Christiansburg, complete with a couple food trucks!  CHRISTIANSBURG KIWANIS CLUB’S WILDERNESS TRAIL FESTIVAL Date: Saturday, September 21 Time: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Location: Downtown Christiansburg Description: This free event is sponsored by the Kiwanis club and offers a variety of arts and crafts vendors, live music and food trucks. All ages are welcome! Additional Information: Check in begins at 8 a.m. on the day of the walk at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. A shuttle van and bus depart for the Blacksburg Library at 8:30 a.m. 17 & under must be accompanied by an adult. No animals are permitted on the shuttle bus. For course description and registration forms go to our website at www.christiansburg.org/recreation.  ROCKIN' MAIN STREET Date: Friday, Oct. 11 Time: 6 - 9 p.m. Location: Downtown Christiansburg Description: This free event to the public will feature a block-like atmosphere in downtown Christiansburg, complete with live music, food trucks and beer sales.  HUCKLEBERRY HUSTLE 5K “GETTING SCARY ON THE HUCKLEBERRY” Date: Saturday, Oct. 26 Time: 9 a.m. Location: Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Center & Huckleberry Trail Fee: $25 if received or postmarked by October 14, 2019 (Please send entry and check to Christiansburg High School, C/O Shane Guynn, 100 Independence Blvd, Christiansburg, VA 24073, $30 race day. Additional Information: The Christiansburg Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Christiansburg High School to put on this event. No animals are permitted. Strollers (baby jogger, etc) need to start at the back. Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Christiansburg Recreation Center and ends promptly at 8:30 a.m. We have multiple awards for the races, including the most creative costume. For course description and registration forms go to our website at www.christiansburg.org/recreation.  EIGHT MILE BRIDGE CHALLENGE WALK Date: Saturday, Sept. 21 Time: 8:15 a.m. Location: Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Center & Huckleberry Trail Fee: FREE - the walk is limited to the first 60 participants, each participant gets a shirt.
