 EARLY MORNING YOGA – INSTRUCTOR: KIM PUGH Eligibility: Ages 15 and over Location: Christiansburg Recreation Center – Multi-Purpose Room 2

Additional Information: How you spend your morning can and will most likely set the tone for the rest of your day. So try waking up your mind and body with this early morning yoga flow. Take the time at the start of the day to center your awareness, energize the body and allow your spirits to rise with the sun. All levels welcomed. Modifications will be introduced for complex poses so that the beginners can work comfortably at their own level alongside the more advanced students in the class. The class is designed to have varying intensity of movement with focused breath that will leave you feeling strong, calm and refreshed. Participants supply their own yoga mat. Additional Information: This class will not only help you build strength, but get you lean and toned too. Class will consist of many types of movements using hand weight, barbells and bands. Additional Information: This program combines cardio, strength training and endurance drills for an all-over body workout. The class offers a variety of unique and challenging moves that will slim, strengthen, tone, and firm. Also, includes many of the popular P90X moves, which will keep the workout challenging and fun! Additional Information: Tai Chi is a form of moving meditation that originated in China and is practiced by millions of people around the world. Tai Chi will help you experience a deep sense of flow within your body by connecting your movement with your mental focus and breath. This class teaches the basic movements and mindfulness skills know as Hunyuan Gong (Essential Skills). These moving meditations are gentle exercises that are open to all levels and provide a great morning wake up routine. WHAT CAN TAI CHI DO FOR ME? The most frequently reported benefits and research findings include: -Stress relief and chronic pain management. -Improved range of motion, core and lower extremity strength. -Improved coordination, balance and body awareness. -Strengthened mental acuity, memory and focus.
