Additional Information: Pre-requisite: Dogs must have completed a novice dog obedience class. This class introduces stu dents to different maneuvers and exercises of Rally style obedience. Rally Obedience is the combination of maneuvers using the flow and interaction of agility. It includes simple items like forward, halt, left turns; and more complicated things like ser pentines, around corners, about U-turns and more. Minimum: 6 Maximum: 9 Class Reg. Begins Reg. Classroom instruction topics to include: Different types of handguns and ammo, fundamentals of handgun operations, overview of Virginia laws, Firearm safety and additional alternatives for self-defense protection. Class is taught by a USCAA certified trainer for the state of Virginia and students that successfully complete the course will have the proper paperwork to apply for a Concealed Carry Permit in the state of Virginia. Additional Information: Virginia has implemented a new, shorter hunter education course. Instead of 10 hours or more, the new course will be 6-8 hours. Students will be required to complete several hours of self-study prior to the class. Some material on the final test will be covered in the self-study material, but not during actual class time. Students must complete the self-study to prepare themselves for the final test. Study manuals will be available for pick-up at the Recreation Dept. Participants must be pre-registered, NO walk-in registrations at the class. Eligibility Date Time Ages 11 and over Saturday, Aug. 23 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
