Date Time Tuesday, Sept. 2 1 – 5 p.m. SOURDOUGH/KOMBUCHA WORKSHOP – Instructor: Ginny Perfater Eligibility: Ages 21 and over Location: Recreation Center – Classroom 2 Additional Information: Join us for a sourdough workshop. You’ll learn all the steps in the process from maintaining the sour dough starter to shaping and baking a loaf. We will make the dough together, then you take the dough home to bake the next day. You’ll also leave with step-by-step instructions and a 200-year-old starter! You will also learn how to make Kombucha and take home your very own scoby to start fermenting your own tea. Come learn about the benefits of a healthy gut and have some fun with us! There is a $20 instruction fee that will be collected at the class, correct change only! Participants will need to bring: flour, a mixing bowl, spatula and 2 - pint jars. Must Pre-Register. Are you interested in learning about local history? Join Montgomery Museum Executive Director, Sherry Wyatt, on a walking tour of Downtown Christiansburg. The tour will be supplemented with historic photographs from the museum’s collection and there will be plenty of opportunity for questions and answers. Participants should be prepared to walk about 6 blocks. Participants will meet at the museum. The tour will start and finish at the Montgomery Museum located at 4 East Main St. Christiansburg.
