CO. 4-H PROGRAMS “GROW INTO AUTUMN” GARDENING Location: Recreation Community Garden – 1525 Roanoke St. (beside of Dude’s Drive-In), Christiansburg Minimum: 5 Maximum: 14 Additional Information: Join us for a hands-on gardening workshop where youth learn the essentials of growing and nurturing cool season crops. Participants will be able to maintain a fall community garden. This program will meet outside so please wear comfortable clothing/tennis shoes and bring a hat. All supplies are included. Water and snacks are provided. Registration Eligibility Date Time FEE August 18 – Sept. 12 Ages 8 - 18 Thursday, Sept. 18 5:30 - 7 p.m. $5 ROCKETRY WORKSHOP: BUILD, LAUNCH, LEARN Location: Recreation Center – Classroom 1 Minimum: 5 Maximum: 12 Additional Information: Get ready to blast off! In this exciting, hands-on rocketry workshop, students will dive into the world of rockets by designing, building, and launching their very own model rockets. They’ll explore the real science and engineering principles that make space flight possible. All supplies are included. Water and snacks are provided. In this hands-on workshop, participants will create unique and modern holi day crafts – perfect for decorating your home or gifting with heart. Water and snacks are provided. Registration Eligibility Dates Time FEE Oct. 1 – Dec. 10 Ages 8 - 12 Monday, Dec. 15 4:30 – 6 p.m. $10 “PIECE OF CAKE” – CAKE DECORATING Location: Recreation Center – Classroom 1 Minimum: 5 Maximum: 12 Additional Information: Learn a new skill of making a frosting and the art of decorating cakes and cupcakes. Youth will learn the basics of icing, piping, and using fun decorations to create their own sweet masterpieces. Youth will also explore entrepre neurship, career development, and money management. In this interactive and engaging workshop, young participants will learn the foundations of personal finance in a way that’s fun, practical, and empowering. Water and snacks are provided.
