CFV 2024 Annual Report

FROM BENEFICIARY TO BENEFACTOR

Receiving the Roy R. Raub, M.D. Memorial Scholarship, I was able to pursue a life-changing opportunity for not only myself but my family. The scholarship made it financially possible for me to attend Brown University, where I studied Economics and International & Public Affairs, and it opened doors to incredible academic and professional opportunities.

During my time at Brown, I lost my father, and the scholarship allowed me to continue my education without adding financial strain to my family and preventing any interruption of my studies. Today, after starting my career in investment banking and now working in private equity at TA Associates, I feel fortunate to be in the position to support the Raub Scholarship and the broader community. There are many talented and dedicated students in Southern West Virginia and Southwest Virginia, and the Community Foundation plays an integral role in supporting and fostering these students in their future academic pursuits and potential professions.
