ACIS Awards Over $370,000 in Scholarships In May, the Department of Accounting and Information Systems presented their annual ACIS Scholarship Awards Banquet. is departmental-level awards ceremony is unique within Pamplin thanks to the commitment and generosity of our ACIS alumni. Due to the growing size of attendees, the ACIS department was able to hold the event at the Inn at Virginia Tech for the rst time. e event was attended by over 260 individuals including distinguished donors, alumni, ACIS Advisory Board members, faculty, students, friends and family. is year, the total scholarships awarded exceeded $370,000 and these funds were distributed to over 120 ACIS students including entering freshmen, undergraduates, Masters students and PhD students. is year, Marissa Vahlkamp who is the Vice President of Beta Alpha Psi and current ACIS undergraduate (and future ACIS graduate student) hosted the event for us. roughout the evening we heard inspiring remarks from the ACIS Department Head Dr. Jack Maher and had various distinguished alumni, donors, and faculty present the awards to the deserving ACIS students. e remarks, dinner, and award presentations all made the 2019 ACIS Scholarship Banquet a memorable event, and a great opportunity to showcase and reward our top ACIS students.

Negar Jamshidimehr, Ernst & Young presented the Virginia Owen Williams Memorial Scholarships to Tannah Blair and Ashley Fleming.
Ted Browning presented the Christopher Allen Johnson Memorial Scholarships in Accounting to Matthew Griffith,Kyungloon Lee,Causey Meadors, and Anna Burke.
Chris Xystros, KPMG presents Marissa Vahlkamp, Master of Ceremonies for the evening with the KPMG Leadership Award.
Ken Lemelin, ACIS Advisory Board Member, presented the PWC Award to Marlena Zaleski.
Willow Pedersen received the Elmer S. Wilson,Jr. Memorial Scholar- ship in Accounting and Information Systems from John Renner.
