balance of less than $500 in their current semester. Students who are not making payment son their account in a timely manner will be contacted by BC Center to resolve the account balance. This resolution may include removal from classes and Bluefield College if necessary. Students not current with their payments will not be able to participate in an non-academic extracurricular activities on campus. This includes athletic practices, games and concert events. For further information, please see the student account policy in BC Central, through the College website, or on MyBC. Attorney’s fees and other costs of collection will be imposed should collection efforts become necessary for the student accounts past due balance. SPECIAL COURSES AND ACTIVITIES There may be additional charges to the student for special courses, activities or experiences. Students will be notified by BC Central or by faculty when these charges will be applied to their account. INTERNSHIPS If the College incurs incremental costs by outside instructors or entities regarding internships, the student will be charged an internship fee to cover these incremental costs. CHECK CASHING AND RETURNED CHECK POLICIES As a service to students, BC Central will cash one check of up to $50 per day. Students are encouraged to establish an account at a local bank while attending Bluefield College to take care of banking needs. A fee of $35 will be imposed to the student’s account for all checks returned to the College for insufficient funds. The College reserves the right to not accept a check from a student who has previously presented a check with insufficient funds. Failure to properly pay the amount of a returned check and fee shall result in the student’s account being placed on hold. CREDIT DISBURSEMENT Students who have an anticipated credit on their student account may submit a check requisition form in order to obtain a check from the College once the funds are disbursed to their account. This form may be obtained in BC Central and is available for students on MyBC. Students may submit it in person, by faxing it to BC Central at 276-326-4356 or by email at bccentral@bluefield.edu. This form should be submitted each semester for traditional students and each term for online students if the student has an actual credit on his or her account and wishes to receive the funds at the earliest date available. Students with federal funds on their account do not have to submit this form. Per federal guidelines, any credit created by federal funds will have a scheduled disbursement fourteen (14) days after the credit is created. Students have the option to obtain their check in BC Central or have it mailed to their address. Students wishing to have their check overnighted to their residence have the option to select either Saturday Delivery or Standard Overnight Delivery. The charge for overnight delivery of the check will be deducted from the check prior to its being issued. For students who have a parent plus loan on their account, a student account authorization form must be completed by the parent on the loan. This form is located on MyBC or may be obtained in BC Central. It provides the parents on the loans
