Academic Catalog 2018

Graduation Fee A graduation fee of $120 is billed to all candidates for graduation. The fee is refundable in the event the student does not meet graduation requirements. This is a required fee regardless of the students’ participation in graduation ceremonies. All delinquent accounts must be cleared in BC Central prior to participating in graduation ceremonies, receiving an official transcript, or obtaining a diploma. Students will not be permitted to participate in graduation ceremonies, receive a transcript, or obtain their diploma if they have a tuition & fee balance on their account. Students who have unreturned textbooks will be allowed to participate in graduation ceremonies but will not receive their diploma or an official transcript until the textbooks have been returned or the balance on their account has been cleared. Course Materials Fee Bluefield College provides textbooks for all degree seeking students through a course material rental program with eCampus. Each student is charged per semester and will receive all of their course materials by the first day of classes. If a textbook is not returned from the end of final exams, an additional charge of 50% of the list price of the textbook will be added to the student’s account. Students who receive Title IV funds are eligible or a reduction of the fee. If a student applies for this reduction or “Opt-Out” they are responsible for purchasing their own textbooks and access codes. The opt out deadline is July 21, 2017 for the 2017-2018 academic year.
