Greetings, my name is Alta Lanier Payne, and I proudly belong to the Class of 1975. I embarked on a fulfilling journey in nursing, driven by my passion for caring for and educating others. I am happily married and the proud mother of two sons, as well as a grandmother to four wonderful grandchildren. I have also cherished the company of two beloved grand - fur babies, although, sadly, only one remains with us now. Life, as we were reminded by our esteemed teachers on graduation night, is indeed a rollercoaster filled with ups and downs. I often reflect on the joy and excitement of our senior year, and the wise words of my great aunt resonate deeply with me. When I asked her about her greatest joy, she spoke of the love of family and shared a profound sentiment: "I thank God for life." This has since become my own mantra.

With gratitude and appreciation, I echo her sentiment: I thank God for life!
