50-Year-Reunion
The dates blurred by time -- around 1983. After getting my Microsoft Certification I landed a job at eMerge interactive as a Systems Engineer. Later, I was promoted to manufacturing engineering. The company went public and raised capital but was mismanaged. I found my next job through a newspaper ad. I checked out the address and, despite its appearance, sent my resume because I needed the job. About a week later, I received a call on a Wednesday morning for an interview. That was when I found out it was back at the Kennedy Space Center. Had not really planned for that to happen. The next Wednesday, I received a call informing me that an offer would arrive the following morning. Sheila and I have a combined 50 years of experience with the space program. When I retired, I was a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. It was my dream job ever since the moon landing. Shelia and I both attended First Baptist Church of Cocoa for over 30 years. Both of us sang in the choir, while Sheila performed many solos. We both served on committees, and I served as a Deacon, Audio Engineer and System Administrator. Blessings and heartache often coexist. I lost my oldest brother, my favorite aunt, my youngest brother, my mother and my wife within a two - year span.
Shelia went to “ Sing with the Angels ” on May 23, 2016. We did not have children.
I am retired. I ’ m still living in Cocoa Florida -- Living the good life!
