Z88.3 FM® finally launched on August 14, 1995 combined into the television antenna of WKMG - TV Orlando and playing contemporary Christian music and using the service elements of the secular stations that included entertaining announcers, news, weather and traffic. There was no talk or preaching programs – just continuous Christian music. Using the research skills learned at Marshall, Jim initiated perceptual studies and music auditorium testing to hone the format. By the summer of 2004, Z88.3 (WPOZ) was number one in adults, aged 24 - 54. Four years later, the station began a long run as number one in all demographics in the Orlando market. The first Christian station to hit number one in any market in the nation! Thirty years later, Z88.3 FM® still dominates in the ratings and has given birth to other Christian formats and initiatives; Christian rock, Christian urban and hip - hop, Spanish Christian, Urban Gospel, All Worship music, Contemporary Christian oldies and Christmas music 365. Jim and Eunice ’ s life is a testament of God ’ s grace exemplified and getting the Z on the air was God ’ s plan all along. God uses us for His glory in spite of our failings, sin and human frailty, that way all the glory belongs to God and to Him alone!
