50-Year-Reunion

Okay, this page needs a photo, so I will use this one that I didn ’ t have room for on my designated pages in the book.

I love it when the dots connect.

Patricia Hale and I have known each other since we were kids, both attending the same elementary school and the same church. In the ninth grade we were voted, “ Hardest Working. ” As seniors, we were voted, “ Most Dependable. ” I had the privilege of teaching her two daughters at BHS. Even though we both live locally, our paths seldom crossed. At the retirement dinner for Mercer County Schools in 2017, I looked over the program, and was surprised to see her name listed, too. I knew we had to get a photo together. Fast forward -- It has truly been a joy connecting with her, and 13 other classmates on our hard - working, creative Reunion Committee. Through email correspondence and a few phone calls, familiar faces and voices have wonderfully “ invaded ” my world as 79 of you contributed to this volume. With a sober sadness, we worked on the pages for the 67 seniors who are no longer with us. I can easily see their faces hear their laughter. With a serious moment of reality when I copied and pasted my own Selfie next to my BHS senior photo. Okay, that was indeed a moment . . . No, we don ’ t live in the past, but a 50 year anniversary is a big deal, and it should be. The good Lord has allowed us to be here for it. We need to celebrate this moment. Working on this reunion, there have been times when it almost seemed like those 50 years have melted away. May this Reunion Yearbook help melt away some of those years for you, too, and may there be some dots that connect once again.
