Since graduating high school, I dedicated 49 years to a fulfilling career, beginning as a Nurse ’ s Aide, attending LPN school and moving on to an RN program. I retired in April, 2024. My journey in nursing took me through a wide range of specialties, from Home Health to the Operating Room, each chapter adding to a deeply rewarding professional life as well as introducing me to many people who have become friends for life. In 2021, my husband and I moved from Pennsylvania to North Carolina and built a home near my daughter, Laura, a dedicated elementary school teacher and mom to our three amazing grandsons. All of the boys are passionate and talented lacrosse players. We love to watch them play. This November, my husband and I will celebrate 20 years of marriage. We were married at the beautiful Diann - Lee House. My stepson lives in Miami, and we were thrilled to visit his new home earlier this year. Retirement has been anything but quiet — we stay active with golf lessons, pickleball, and community events at the lake where we live. I also am a member of our local Civitan Club. Lifelong boaters, we recently added a pontoon boat to our adventures. Our love of travel continues to provide us with great memories. This October we ’ ll embark on a European cruise—our fifth time aboard a tall ship, after spending three weeks in northern Italy and Tuscany.
