I graduated a year early in 1974; however, I am 100% Class of 1975!!
After Bluefield High School, I attended Bluefield State College and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Several years later, I received a Master of Science Degree in Management and Healthcare Administration from Marshall University. The best thing I ever did was going to nursing school to become a Registered Nurse. Afterwards I earned Certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE ) which became my passion. I have one daughter, Ginger, and two grandchildren, Alston is 18, and Kasidy is 17.They have truly been the light of my life. They live in Sevierville, Tennessee, so we are blessed to see them frequently. Claude and I have been married for 29 years. We live in Roanoke, Virginia. We stay busy in retirement. Just finished our first European Cruise to Spain, France and Italy. We enjoy traveling and have just three states out West to complete the tour of every state in our great country. We boat at Smith Mountain Lake in the warmer months and love camping in the spring and fall. Unintentionally, we do have a cat sanctuary. Eight cats! A few are completely feral but they ’ re all cared for and loved. I really am the crazy cat lady . We did attempt taking three of the fur - babies camping but it did not go over well. So, three things that I love: one is my cats, two is gardening in my flower, herb, and vegetable garden (small scale), and the other is cooking. From a career standpoint, I was a business owner, medical/surgical nurse, home health nurse/manager (my favorite job) Director of Education at St Lukes Hospital, and finally the last 22 years I worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative. Worked for three large companies. Pfizer, Abbott and Sanofi . I now take some of the drugs I used to sell. Wrapping up 68 years, God has blessed me immensely After losing both my sisters, I am grateful for every day I open my eyes. I ’ m also grateful to see and visit many friends and classmates celebrating our 50th year reunion. I used to collect cookbooks until Pinterest came along.
