After graduation I headed on up into West Virginia to guide Whitewater Raft Trips off and on for ten years. Also during that time, I spent one year at Concord College and got an Associate Degree in Aviation Maintenance at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. With that degree, I worked several jobs over the next 40 years, all were with helicopter companies. One in Louisiana with petroleum helicopters, one with Fleet Helicopters in eastern Pennsylvania, and one in Piney Flats, Tennessee with Bell Helicopters. I am now retired and living in Blountville, Tennessee with Nita, where I volunteer at church and around the community in preparation for an Eternity in Heaven.

We got married on November 12, 1983.
