After graduation, I attended Concord College, now Concord University, studying education K - 12 with specialization in Physical Education. However, this was not the career path that I followed. September 14, 1979, I married my wife, Mary Wassum Quick. To this union, we welcomed three children. Jami E Wade, husband, Dr. Robert A Wade, children Hayden D. Ely (23), Andrew “ Cooper ” Wade (12) and Evan J Wade ; Lauren D. Quick, companion Zach Blosser, children McKinley C. Quick (6) and Cameron Blosser (6); Alex D. Quick wife, Cydney Graham Quick, son Brooks W. Quick (newborn). My career path took me to grocery sales. I worked for Food Brokers from December, 1979 until March, 1985. March 4, 1985 I started a job with Hunt - Wesson Foods, which was sold in April, 1985 and became Beatrice Hunt - Wesson. In 1991 Beatrice Hunt - Wesson was sold to ConAgra and then became ConAgra Foods and eventually ConAgra Brands. I won four Sales Rep of the Year awards during my career. Before retirement I was managing eight Kroger Divisions. After 31 years, I took early retirement on January 28, 2016. After retirement I went to work at the Princeton Elks Golf Course, first working on golf carts and then as the Golf Course/Pro Shop Manager. I worked there until the fall of 2019. Since my final retirement, I have stayed extremely busy. Spending time with my grandchildren. I have two grandsons who play soccer, and a granddaughter who is in dance. I ’ m an avid golfer and bowler and still active at the Elks Golf Course. I am in charge of the Elks Senior Golfers, running 18 tournaments a year, and I run the Summer Golf League. I also volunteer as a coach for the Princeton Middle School baseball team, and I ’ m currently the assistant golf coach at PikeView High School. In the past, I ’ ve coached Princeton Middle School Baseball for three seasons as the head coach with an overall record of 36 - 6. I was the first head baseball coach at the school in 2008. The players from the first middle school team won the AAA State Baseball Championship in 2012. I have also coached Football, Soccer and Basketball, winning Championships in each.
