FUND SPOTLIGHT The Morrow-Stevens Foundation Scholarship For many years, the Morrow Stevens Foundation, a private philanthropy, helped students throughout Western, Southside, and Southwest Virginia to attend college. In 2023, its leaders approached the CFNRV about dissolving the private philanthropy and establishing a scholarship fund. The focus and selection criteria would remain the same – to support students with demonstrated financial need to attend a public college or university in Virginia – but the CFNRV would take over managing both the financial assets and the application process, giving the donors peace of mind and removing the burden of managing a private philanthropy. The Morrow-Stevens Scholarship covers the balance of a student’s tuition, room and board, and fees after all other forms of financial aid have been applied.
