FUND SPOTLIGHT The Giles Fund The Giles Fund, also known as the Endowment for Giles County, was started by a small group of donors in 2007. Since then, it has grown to include dozens of donors who have collectively awarded more than $275,000 in grants to organizations serving the county. The fund is guided by the Giles Panel, a dedicated group of volunteers that raises about $30,000 annually to build the endowment and to make grants to organizations addressing poverty, housing, education, the arts, and more. Like other donor advisers, panel members read applications and recommend organizations to support as part of the Responsive Grant Program. They also recommend grants outside of this application process. In 2023, the CFNRV honored Giles Fund donors at its annual Celebration of Giving held at Buckeye Farm in Newport. The Giles Fund captures the CFNRV’s belief that small gifts pooled together can make an enormous impact.
