A Place to Reflect The Luke Woody Memorial Garden
Nestled at the foot of the Saint Francis property is a very special place. It holds the memories of people and pets who will never be forgotten. It honors and celebrates the incredible bond between human and animal. It is a place where a quiet walk around the pond reminds you of how precious our connections with others truly are. The Luke Woody Memorial Garden, constructed and dedicated in 2013, was made possible by Jo Lynn Draper, a long-time supporter, board member, and important part of the Saint Francis family. The beautiful statue commemorates Jo Lynn’s late son, Luke, and his dog Boba, who continued to bring comfort to their family after Luke’s passing. In the twelve years since it was created, the Luke Woody Memorial Garden has brought comfort to
many others. Plaques honoring loved ones – both people and pets – have been permanently placed along the circular path. One of the most recent additions was purchased by Saint Francis volunteer and friend, Allison Angell. After having to say goodbye to both her sweet pups, she wanted to do something meaningful to celebrate their lives. Allison says, “It is a beautiful, peaceful spot. My family has seen the life-changing experiences a Saint Francis Service Dog makes. In our minds and hearts, there was no better place to memorialize our best little friends.” The proceeds from all plaques purchased go to support the mission of Saint Francis Service Dogs, making it possible for us to help create even more of these priceless bonds.
