Other Regional Highlights in Virginia Saturday, August 24, 2019 Institute of Advanced Learning and Research, 150 Slayton Avenue, Danville, Virginia The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) welcomes participants of the VT Global Entrepreneur Challenge to learn about key initiatives and regional strengths in advanced machining and computing skills in Danville, Virginia. IALR is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia that engages the resources of Virginia Tech, Danville Community College, Averett University and other partners to diversify, transform and grow the economy of Southern Virginia. In part- nership with the Southern Virginia Regional Alliance, IALR works to attract, retain and grow industry. During this session The Launch Place will discuss “Investment Funding in the United States.” The Launch Place, an investor in early stage com- panies, strives to foster an environment for new and serial entrepreneurs to raise capital and garner the support system needed to take their products and/or solutions into the marketplace.
